Leichenwetter is a German band which was founded in 1996 in Iserlohn
. They perform the lyrics written by dead German poets by using musical influences of metal and gothic.
With names like Dawe (guitar
), Numen (vocals), Cpt. Loft (bass
), und RaweN (drums) they released the CD "Nachtwerke" in 1998 and their songs became part of some compilations.
in 2001 they released the EP
called "Schönheit ist rauh", and another album ("Urworte", 2003), but the official discography
starts in the year 2005 with the record deal, when they release "Letzte Worte" on Metal Axe Records (distribution: Point Music). The band continues to use poems and re-record some of the older songs.
In January 2007 the band releases in Europe again via Metal Axe Records (now distributed by: ZYX Music) the follow-up "Klage" with new songs and lyrics of dead poets.
After bassplayer Cpt. Loft leaves the band in 2009 due to personal reasons he is soon replaced by Doc. Bawin.
