the Divisional Head Quarter by rail and road through Katghora-Pali-Ratanpur. The nearest airport is at Raipur, which is about 250 KM from Korba.

The reason for direct non-connectivity of Korba towards the eastern side was due to rail tracks not meeting in Korba going towards east. The tracks joined Champa from the Howrahside, hence for a train to go to Howrah, it'd have to change engines. Now that is being rectified and a new track is being built to join Sakti. Because of this, in the future direct trains will be there for Jharsuguda and Howrah.
