History

During the War of Indian Independence of 1857, the mutineering sepoys were marching to Delhi to join the emperor. After a days march, they had camped at Kalianpur on 7 June, when they were met by Nana Sahib

The main areas are Indira Nagar, Avas Vikas Colonies, Navsheel Dham, Shivli road, Bithoor Road, Guba Gardens, Mirzapur, Bara Sirohi and proper Kalyanpur. Avas Vikas Colonies and Navsheel Dham are new colonies and are moderately planned. The proper Kalyanpur area consists of mostly single storey houses situated in a congested manner.
