The individual departments are under the direct supervision of their appointed directors, and each sub-department has its head.

Facilities
Spreading over a campus of 264 acres, the university is booming with academic activities. While the undergraduate and post-graduate programmes in Art, Science, Commerce, Law, Engineering and Medicine are offered in affiliated colleges and institutions, the residential wing of the campus includes faculties of Life Sciences, Business Management, Education and English. It has a computer centre, a department of Adult and Continuing Education, Communication and a College Development Council. The chancellor, the vice chancellor and the member of the executive council who are presently holding office, the court and the academic council of the C.S.J.M. University, Kanpur constitute a body corporate in the name of "Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University Kanpur". The university has a perpetual succession and a common seal and can sue and be sued by its name. The university is open to all persons irrespective of class or creed. Nothing may require the university to admit, to any course of study, a large number of students than determined by the ordinances.
