Juan A. Uceda

Juan Alberto Uceda Andrade (born 10 July 1953) has been a general authority
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) since 2010. He is a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy.
Uceda was born in Lima
, Peru
. He holds a degree in public relations from San Luis Gonzaga National University
.
Uceda converted to the LDS Church in 1972. He served as a Mormon missionary
in Peru. He later served in several positions in the church including as a stake Sunday School
president, a bishop, and a counselor in a stake presidency. He also served as president of the Lima Peru Magdalena Stake. He worked for the Church Educational System
(CES), eventually serving as the CES area director for both Peru and Ecuador
.
Uceda was the president
of the Lima Peru North Mission
of the LDS Church. He became an area seventy in 1995 and served for a time as second counselor in the South America West Area
Presidency of the church. The West Area comprised Peru and Bolivia at the time.
In 2003, Ucdea moved to New Jersey
to help his father run their family business. At the time of his call as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy, Uceda was living in Clifton, New Jersey
and serving as a counselor in the Caldwell New Jersey
Stake Presidency.
Uceda and his wife, Maria Isabel Bendezú, are the parents of five children.
