in the television series Seven Days, Kevin Debreno in The District and Det. Tommy McNamara in New York Undercover

, South Australia, the son of Maria Johannes (née Brendel), a secretary, and Gedio "Eddie" LaPaglia, an auto mechanic
and car dealer. LaPaglia's mother was Dutch
and his Italian father immigrated from Bovalino
, Calabria at the age of eighteen. He is the younger brother of Australian actor Anthony LaPaglia
. His other brother, Michael, is a car wholesaler in Los Angeles. He's now living in Santa Monica, California
with his wife, actress Ursula Brooks and their daughter, Tilly.

produced for ABC TV. Though Australian, this is in fact LaPaglia's first appearance in an Australian production. Having lived abroad for so many years, LaPaglia found it necessary to hire a dialect coach to
recover his Australian accent.
