Early career

Tulirinta began his professional career in Shooto

 Finland. Tulirinta compiled a record of 2-0, winning both by unanimous decision. He then joined the large Finnish promotion "The Cage" losing his debut fight in the promotion. After almost finishing the fight in the second round, Tulirinta lost via rear naked choke late in the third round.

Tulirinta then won his next three fights, before losing to Hidetaka Monma via submission (omoplata). Tulirinta was then scheduled to fight Mattias Awad, but the fight never took place.

Tulirinta then fought for Fight Festival for the first time, defeating Christos Petroutsos via decision.

M-1 Global

 to represent Team Finland. Tulirinta's overall record in the promotion was 6-1, with his only loss coming at welterweight. His debut fight in the promotion was at M-1 Challenge 10 in Finland against Farouk Lakebir. Midway through the first round, Tulirinta won via TKO after his opponent suffered a shoulder injury.

This was followed up by a victory over Tommy Depret via standing d'arce choke

Tulirinta then TKOd his next opponent in just 11 seconds and in his final appearance, in Korea, he defeated Ivan Ivanov via TKO in the first round.

Bellator Fighting Championship

Tulirinta then signed with Bellator Fighting Championship to compete in their second season lightweight tournament.

He was supposed to face Carey Vanier
