There are three options under discussion for the project. The Austevoll

 option is considered the most useful possibility, but it is the most expensive as it requires two tunnels. Other options would route the road through Tysnes

 or Fusa

. The project is not finalised, but it is hoped construction will commence around 2020. The road will cost between 6 and 11 billion Norwegian krone
