State Route 27 sees only minor traffic west of Hawkinsville, except in and around Plains and Americus. The route east of Hawkinsville, cosigned with U.S. 341, is a major route in southeast Georgia, and receives more traffic than the western section, with an Average Annual Daily Traffic count of more than 5,000 vehicles in many areas.
