Gabriella Ambrosio is an Italian author and former journalist
. She has a degree in Philosophy
from the University
of Naples
and is a former Communications Professor at La Sapienza University in Rome.
Her first novel Prima di Lasciarsi was published in 2004 in Italy and became a set textbook in Italian high schools as well as in universities in Australia, France, Guatemala
and other countries around the world. The book was also translated into Hebrew and Arabic and published in Israel
and the Palestinian Authority in 2008. It has since been adopted by schools, colleges and human rights organizations working in the region.
The book is due to be published in 2010 in English under the name "Before We say Goodbye" by "Walker books" in UK, Australia and New Zealand. and by "Candlewick Press" in US and Canada.
Her short story "Sticko" was published in 2009 as part of the book "Freedom" (Mainstream Publishing)
"Sticko" is one of a 36 short stories written by the best fiction writers in the world today. Each is inspired by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Her professional books "Siamo quel che diciamo" ("We're What We Say") and "Le nuove terre della pubblicita" ("The New Advertising Lands") dealing with advertising, are taught in universities throughout Italy.
She is currently the President and Co-Founder of AM Newton 21, an International Advertising agency
in Rome.
Since 1992 she has been a member of the Italian Art Directors Club, the association of the best advertising professionals in Italy.
. The book is based on a true story of a suicide bombing which was committed by a seventeen year-old Palestinian girl from the Deheisha refugee camp
at a supermarket in Kiryat Yovel, Jerusalem in 2002. The book narrates the final hours in the lives of the bomber and her victims – a seventeen year-old girl from Jerusalem and the security guard
whose intervention, with his own body, saved the lives of the rest of the people at the busy market on that Passover Eve.
The story begins at seven o’clock in the morning on the day of the attack and ends with the horrifying explosion. Despite the very short time span – a mere seven hours - seen from the points of view of the different characters, the book tries to portray the complex reality between Israel and Palestine.
The book was published in Italian in 2004 by Nutrimenti Publishers, Italy. After receiving rave reviews all over Italy, the book became a textbook in Italian high schools as well as in several universities around the world.
In 2008 the book was translated into Hebrew and published by Pardes publishing house in Israel, and also translated into Arabic and published in the Palestinian territories and other Middle Eastern countries. The book has been employed by Israeli colleges and human rights organizations working in Israel and Palestine as an educational tool. It has also won the prize for Italian novels at the Festival du Premier Romance in Chambéry
