Expressway S12 or express road S12 (in Polish droga ekspresowa S12) is a major road in Poland
which has been planned to run from Piotrków Trybunalski
, through Radom
, Lublin
and Chełm, to the border crossing with Ukraine
at Dorohusk
. The completed road should be about 315 km (195.7 mi) long. At present only two sections exist: the bypass of Piaski
(4.2 km (2.6 mi), common with S17
) and the first stage of Puławy bypass (12.7 km (7.9 mi)) with the John Paul II bridge
(51.436°N 21.909°E). The next section to be constructed should be the stretch from Puławy to Piaski including Lublin ring road, which is going to be also signed as S17. Its construction should begin in late 2010 and finish in 2012.
