 swept through the park at the north end of its 40 km (24.9 mi) long path of death and destruction. Today, the park is a thriving community with approximately 1500 people and 640 homes.

Evergreen is located in an area of Edmonton called Rural North East South Sturgeon immediately to the north west of the intersection between Meridian Street and 167 Avenue. Established around 1970

. Over half the manufactured mobile homes, were moved into the neighbourhood at this time. According to media reports, the number of homes in the park was around 700 on the day the tornado hit in 1987. Since Black Friday, the number of manufactured homes in the park declined, and currently stands at around 640. Most of the homes are owner occupied.
