The Academy of Business in Society (EABIS) is an alliance of companies, business schools and other institutions committed to promoting more sustainable business practice through partnership, learning and research. EABIS’ objective is to be a reference point for organisations seeking access to leading edge thinking and practice in corporate responsibility, sustainability, and governance.

EABIS gives companies the possibility to explore new types of partnerships with academic institutions. It is a platform that allows business to benefit from research findings and address their knowledge needs with leading academics and business peers on a wide range of subjects. EABIS also translates research outputs and business cases into teaching material that brings sustainability management into business school and university classrooms worldwide.

- Facilitates shared learning opportunities through partnerships and platforms of practice and thinking.
Activities
A wide range of initiatives (research projects, events and publications) are centered around three pillars:- Research and knowledge development – EABIS and its founding partners created a network for interdisciplinary research on CR to create accessible and business-relevant knowledge on the topic;
- Education and learning – EABIS provides the platform for multi-stakeholder learning networks to identify and deliver programmes to enhance skills and competencies on CR required by the business world
- Networking and communication – EABIS regularly informs members and stakeholders worldwide of latest trends and relevant research around corporate responsibility issues. EABIS ‘translates’ academic research into business language to make it accessible for all stakeholders.
Events
EABIS organises an annual colloquium to broaden and deepen international understanding of corporate responsibility and sustainability issues as they relate to a prominent field of business practice and research.
