History

Dübendorf is first mentioned in 946 as Tuobilindorf. On the northeastern side of the Adlisberg the ruins of the Dübelstein castle are situated; from 1487 to 1489 the home of Hans Waldmann, former mayor of the city of Zürich.

Dübendorf has an area of 13.6 km² (5.3 sq mi). Of this area, 37.6% is used for agricultural purposes, while 19.5% is forested.
