Further problems arose as Byrnes, Bruno, and the publishing company that bought the rights to the song were forced to not only acknowledge the writing contribution of Paul Mahos, but to also pay him back and continuing royalties, something which Byrnes and Bruno do not receive from the song. Well-known to writer Tony Bruno, whom she had met while working as background musicians on Enrique Iglesias
