History

In 2001, Rock Hill Telephone Company and its affiliates became known as "Comporium," a word created from "Communications" and "Emporium"— a one-stop shop for a variety of products and services. Comporium adopted the Mission Statement "Making Life Easier" to reinforce its commitment to customer service. The Comporium group of companies have provided communications services to customers in York, Chester, and Lancaster counties for more than 100 years, when it was known as the Rock Hill Telephone Company.

Awards

Comporium had many awards such as the American Psychological Association's 2006 National Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award. The award is given to organizations that implement a comprehensive array of workplace practices that foster employee health and wellbeing while enhancing organizational performance. Nominees were evaluated in the areas of employee involvement; health and safety; employee growth and development; work-life balance; and employee recognition, all components of a psychologically healthy workplace.
