Family life

In 1987 Medina married Argentine actor Pablo Alarcón

. In 1989, Medina gave birth to Antonella the first of two daughters she had with Alarcón. In 1995, Medina and Alarcón divorced, and Medina remained in Argentina after the divorce.

Medina chose to stay in Argentina because her two daughters were born there and thus were used to living in that country. In addition, Medina was busy filling a heavy television schedule that, since 2004, continues to keep her busy. She did return to Puerto Rico for a brief period, where she spent a vacation in 1997 with her daughters. The purpose of her trip to Puerto Rico was to have her daughters meet their grandparents and the country where their mother was born.
