in 1900. He was in private practice in New York City
from 1899 to 1929, and was special counsel on patent
matters for New York City from 1912 to 1929. He was President of Woodmere Academy in Woodmere, New York
from 1914 to 1929.
On April 18, 1929, Galston was nominated by President Herbert Hoover
to a new seat on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York
created by 45 Stat. 1409. He was confirmed by the United States Senate
on April 29, 1929, and received his commission the same day. He assumed senior status
on January 1, 1957, serving in that capacity until his death, in 1964.
