. He received episcopal consecration
on January 25, 1989 from Archbishop John Quinn
, with Bishops Mark Hurley and Michael Kaniecki
, SJ, serving as co-consecrators
.
He was later named the sixth Bishop of Yakima
, Washington, on December 31, 1996. Sevilla is the second religious
