The Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete (Brazilian Basketball League) was the main basketball
league in Brazil
. The championship was organized by the Brazilian confederation, CBB
. During the 2005-06 season, the tournament was canceled due to dispute with the NLB ("Nossa Liga de Basquete") led by former player Oscar Schmidt
.
The championship had organization problems and in 2004 were nicknamed "Liga do Busão" ("bus
league"), due to transportation by bus, as CBB wouldn't pay for it and airplanes tickets were too expensive. It was later replaced by Novo Basquete Brasil
(NBB) in 2008.
was cancelled due to a legal dispute between CBB and Nossa Liga de Basquetebol (NLB). Winner/Limeira was the champion of the competition organized by NLB .
