Geography

Buchholterberg has an area, , of 15.32 km² (5.9 sq mi). Of this area, 8.82 km² (3.4 sq mi) or 57.6% is used for agricultural purposes, while 5.34 km² (2.1 sq mi) or 34.9% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.96 km² (0.370658072248834 sq mi) or 6.3% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.04 km² (9.9 acre) or 0.3% is either rivers or lakes and 0.11 km² (27.2 acre) or 0.7% is unproductive land.

Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 3.6% and transportation infrastructure made up 2.3%. 34.0% of the total land area is heavily forested. Of the agricultural land, 19.6% is used for growing crops and 36.4% is pastures, while 1.6% is used for orchards or vine crops. All the water in the municipality is in rivers and streams.

Untere Allmendgemeinde has the rest of Heimenschwand, Marbach, Schaubhaus, Badhaus, Ibach, Wangelen, Teufenbach, Wyler and Rothachen.
