Bon Ice is the leading frozen bar in Mexico. It was created by Quala, a privately held Colombian company and was initially launched in Mexico City in August 2004. It was quickly expanded in cities like Guadalajara in June 2005, Villahermosa November 2005, Monterrey February 2006 and Tijuana September 2006. Today it is available in over a hundred cities in all states across the country.
The product is sold direct to consumers on the streets by independent distributors coordinated under a franchise structure. This allows the company to be at the right time and place to capitalize on consumers' needs for something refreshing and sweet on the hot days of Mexican spring and summer.
