History
The business was formed in June 2005 as BAE Systems Electronics and Integrated Solutions by the merger of BAE's Information & Electronic Warfare Systems (IEWS) and Information & Electronic Systems Integration (IESI) units. The former was the Lockheed Martin Aerospace Electronic Systems business, acquired by BAE in 2000. Lockheed identified AES as a candidate for disposal following a strategic review in 1999.
