Following this Araki found himself as somewhat of an easy target as far as enemies of the empire were concerned. Araki was never a fighter and was consequently killed a further four times, each time effectively resurrected again by Lilandra, with his consciousness transferred to a new clone body.

Araki was not dead for long and when Lilandra regained control of her physical body she had him resurrected a sixth time. She considered him a valuable help but this appears to have been a mistake, as Araki betrayed his Empress upon her return to her duties after the Cassandra Nova incident, supporting the ascension of her resurrected brother D'Ken. Araki may have been negatively affected by the many deaths and the process of having his consciousness repeatedly transferred. He also order the mass extermination of Jean Grey
