In 1952, Bourguiba permit to Shoman to open an A rab bank branche in tunisia, as Arab Bank-Tunis. In 1982, Arab Bank chnged to Arab Tunisian Bank.

In 2008, the General Assembly decide to crow the bank capital from 60 millions dinars to 100 millions dinars within two years.; the have increase the capital of the bank to 80 millions in 2008 as a first step.

Today, ATB has a network of 103 branches and 12 subsidiaries.
