Kirtzman was formerly owner/publisher of the Fire Island Villager, a weekly newspaper. In 2010, he was one of a group of investors who bought about three quarters of the businesses in Fire Island Pines from Eric von Kuersteiner and Anthony Roncalli, reportedly for roughly $20 million. The other investors include Matt Blesso, a real estate investor, and Seth Weissman, an investment banker.
