Geography

Affeltrangen has an area, , of 14.42 square kilometres (5.6 sq mi). Of this area, 10.58 km² (4.1 sq mi) or 73.4% is used for agricultural purposes, while 2.25 km² (0.868729856833204 sq mi) or 15.6% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 1.32 km² (0.509654849342146 sq mi) or 9.2% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.08 km² (19.8 acre) or 0.6% is either rivers or lakes and 0.13 km² (32.1 acre) or 0.9% is unproductive land.
