The search and rescue efforts commence at 2.45 pm, 25 minutes after the landslide occurred. During this operation, found a total of 16 orphans and guardians who died and nine survived with injuries. The rescue operation ended after the last victim removed from the scene at 5:30 am the following day. follow-up operation started at 8 am, 22 May, to explore locations around the ruins of tragedy and cleaning of waste to ensure that no more victims are trapped. Causes of landslides
The Children's Hidayah Madrasah Al-Taqwa orphanage is located at Jalan Sungai Semungkis, Kampung Sosrowijayan (FELCRA Semungkis), Hulu Langat, Selangor, a hilly rural area vulnerable to landslides.
