The 1925 24 Hours of Le Mans was the 3rd Grand Prix of Endurance
, and took place on June 20 and 21 1925.
For this race, the start was actually held on the Mulsanne Straight, instead of in its traditional location following Maison Blanche.
This was also the first year of the Le Mans
-style start in which, at the drop of the French Tricolor
, the drivers would run to their cars and have to start them up before they could actually start racing.
This race also saw the death of French driver Marius Mestivier when his Amilcar
was involved in a fatal accident.
