The current headteacher of the school is Mr. Graham Davies. As of September 2011, the school has a new deputy head and three assistant heads, Mr Matthew Vickery, Mrs Samantha lewis Jones and Mr Seamus O'Sullivan. The previous headteacher was Mrs. Irene Perry. She has now retired, after serving 15 years at the school from September 1993 until December 2008. Dr. Simon Hulme left Ysgol John Bright in July 2011 along with the former deputy head Mr. Derek Williams.

Examinations

The school offers education for KS3, KS4 and Post-16 students. It offers GCSE, Entry Level examinations for KS4 and AS-level and A-level for Post-16 education. The school is well known for its exceptional sports facilities and drama students. The school perform a different musical production each year
