 border. It is located on a height of 480 meters.
In the 12th century there were many Armenian villages in this region. Almost all of them were Arabized, except of three villages: Yacoubiyah, Kesab and Ghinemieh.

There are two Armenian Apostolic churches in Yacoubiyah: Saint Anna and Saint Hribsime . The last one is built similar to Ejmiatsin’s Saint Hripsime. There is also one Armenian Catholic church.
