White (crater)
Encyclopedia
White is a lunar
impact crater
. It lies on the far side of the Moon
from the Earth
, to the southwest of the huge walled plain Apollo
. About one crater diameter to the south-southwest is the small crater Hendrix
.
This is a relatively fresh crater with a well-defined rim and interior that have not been significantly worn. There is a small, cup-shaped crater attached to the exterior along the western edge. The inner wall of White displays some slight terracing, and there is a low central ridge near the mid-point of the interior.
Moon
The Moon is Earth's only known natural satellite,There are a number of near-Earth asteroids including 3753 Cruithne that are co-orbital with Earth: their orbits bring them close to Earth for periods of time but then alter in the long term . These are quasi-satellites and not true moons. For more...

Apollo (crater)
Apollo is an enormous impact crater located in the southern hemisphere on the far side of the Moon. This formation dwarfs the large crater Oppenheimer that is located next to the western rim. The crater Barringer lies across the northern wall...

Hendrix (crater)
Hendrix is a small lunar impact crater that is located on the Moon's far side, deep in the southern hemisphere. Hendrix lies about a crater diameter to the south-southwest of the crater White, just beyond the outer rim of the enormous walled plain Apollo. This is a roughly circular, bowl-shaped...

Satellite craters
By convention these features are identified on lunar maps by placing the letter on the side of the crater mid-point that is closest to White.White | Latitude | Longitude | Diameter |
