In 1948 he won the gold medal as member of the American 4x200 metre relay team. Four years later he helped the American relay team to qualify for the final of the 4x200 metre relay competition
. But he was not awarded with a medal, because he did not participate in the final.
Wolf was a member of the American team which finished fifth in the 1956 water polo tournament
. He played five matches.
Again four years later he finished seventh with the American water polo team in the 1960 tournament
