 twice each year since 1973. The concert is named for an old tradition in which students would bring sofa

s into the quad and lie on them while watching the performances. This tradition is still allowed but is no longer commonplace. In fall 2007 the University attempted to revive this tradition by supplying inflatable couches for use during the concert. WILD is sponsored by the Washington University Student Union and is produced by the student group Team 31 Productions (Official Site) and is regarded as one of the biggest social events on campus each semester. WILD is free to University students and faculty, and students may purchase tickets for visitors. Drinking
