93.9 has been WMBM-FM (R&B AM simulcast), WGOS (Wild Goose Country), WBUS, "The Magic Bus", progressive rock, then a full time traditional jazz station. In 1976, the station became "Love 94", changing to a smooth jazz

 format. Their call letters changed to WWWL until WLVE became available.

On December 25, 2008, WLVE flipped for the second time from a smooth jazz format to more of a rhythmic AC format making it a new station nicknamed 93.9 MIA. The smooth jazz format is now available on 93.9 HD2, following the lead of similarly-formatted stations in other cities, such as Dallas
