(1869–1930) made his fortune in the mining industry. In 1950, the property was sold to the Archdiocese of New York for use as Elizabeth Seton College. In 1989, Elizabeth Seton College merged with Iona College
. As of April 2009, the property had been abandoned. Shortly thereafter, it was occupied by The Tara Circle, Inc.
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places
in 1982.
