Announced on May 25, 2006, the temple is located on a 10 acres (40,468.6 m²) site at 200 Street and 82 Avenue in the suburb of Langley
. Groundbreaking was held on August 4, 2007. A public open house was held 9 April - 24 April 2010 prior to the dedication of the temple on 2 May 2010.
