The Board of Trustees describes itself as the public body corporate of the university. The Trustees set policy for the university, and serves as the University of Florida's legal owner and final authority. Overall the Board of Trustees hold the institution's resources in trust and they are responsible for making sure that the resources are being used efficiently and effectively.

Composition

The Board of Trustees at the University of Florida consists of six members that are selected by the Governor of Florida and five members that are selected by the Florida Board of Governors
