As of 2009, the athletic association operates on an $83 million dollar annual budget. It is overseen by the university controller and the Gator Boosters. Since 1990, the University Athletic Association has contributed over $48 million to the University of Florida to support the university's academic programs. One of the main responsibilities of the University of Florida athletic director is to act as chief financial officer
for the athletic association.
