Ultimate Ride is a Roller Coaster
game
for Microsoft
Windows 95/98/NT/ME and is designed for people to build and ride roller coasters. The game was released in September 2001 and opened an official website where members could upload their designs and share them with other members. There was a rating system where members would rate each ride based on the three categories Adrenaline, Technique and Originality. Each week the top five rated roller coasters were individually given an award known as a Roller God. Two other versions of the game titled "Ultimate Ride Coaster Deluxe" and "Disney Coaster" added new features to the game and were both released in 2002. The website's coaster exchange became increasingly popular from 2002 through 2003 before it was shut down by publisher Disney Imagineering's choice. The game spawned numerous fan websites including ModXChange, Mods to the Max and Coaster Sims among many others.
