 in 1985. He was subsequently re-elected in 1987, 1991 and 1995. Liggio did not seek re-election in 1999 in order to run for the position of freeholder.

For the 2006 Board, Freeholder Liggio was elected Vice Chairman after serving as Chairman Pro Tempore for the 2003 board term. He serves as Chairman of both the Purchasing Committee and the Senior Citizens and Veterans Affairs Committee. He serves as a member of the following committees: Contract Review; Economic Development and Housing; Personnel; Public Resources; and Transportation.
