The intriguing Cajun electronica of the follow-up single in 2009, "Whizz Kid", saw the band continue to attract attention from radio stations and the blogosphere. Their third single, the feverish road-trip psychedelia "Somebody New", achieved great success, most notably in France and Germany, Switzerland, and Austria ( Virgin Radio France, NRJ France, Motor FM Germany, Fritz Germany to name a few). It also peaked at number 1 in the iTunes Electro Download Charts in France and has been featured in a series of L´oreal advertisements and on the TV show 90210

All three singles are featured on The Amplifetes eponymous debut album, released in autumn 2010. They have since then been developing their live act and are touring extensively.

"Blinded By The Moonlight", the fourth single; was released early in 2011 and has been remixed by Swedish hipster band Little Majorette as well as the renowned German club music producer Fukkk Offf

. The F.O. remix is accompanied by a strung out video edit signed Mattias Johansson in a remix of his own video of the original single version. The release also earned the band an interview feature in the June 2011 issue of the fashion magazine Vogue Italia.

The framework for the production of material for The Amplifetes debut work was very much dictated, while not restricted, by geography and time. Due to the band members living in two different cities, most of the writing and recording interaction took place late nights over the internet. In fact, it was not until the final mixing sessions that the full band actually met! This created a very special atmosphere for the creative process, described by lead singer Peter Ågren as "a feeling of weightlessness, like being trapped inside a bubble of soft stone".
