Teresa Milanollo

Teresa Milanollo was an Italian violinist and composer. She performed as a duo with her sister Maria-Margherita, who was two years younger and also a violinist.

Milanollo gave concerts in childhood with her younger sister Maria, and in the 1840s was considered a child prodigy. After Maria died of tuberculosis
in 1848, Teresa continued performing under the management of her father. However, she ended her career when she married General Parmentier Theodore (1821–1910) from Alsace
in 1857, and afterward only played within her circle of friends. She died in Paris, and her compositions have been largely forgotten.
Milanollo had several violins, including a 1728 Stradivarius
now owned by Corey Cerovsek
, and a 1680 Ruggieri
, which was sold in April 2010 by Tarisio Auctions
for $240,000. The Stradivarius was played by Paganini and bequeathed to her by Domenico Dragonetti
in his will. A book about her Ruggieri violin titled Antonius and Hieronymus Amati, Die 'Maria Milanollo was published by Albert Berr, Bad Wiessee in 1950.
