Teen Beat was published by Sterling Magazines from the mid 1980s to the mid 1990s when it was sold along with other Sterling Magazines, Tiger Beat, Super Teen and Super Teens Loudmouth. Sterling Magazine also published Metal Edge, Metal Maniacs, Country Music Special and others.
