As president and chief executive officer for UBP's newly-formed U.S. subsidiary, he oversaw the mergers and acquisitions advisory business, and also established a merchant banking operation, and developed private banking and asset management services for the U.S. Prior to joining Lazard's New York office in 1990, Langman spent three years with Lazard Freres & Co. in London.
