The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 89.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.4 males.

Dr. Jason Chittum began doctoring in Sorento in 1895. He was a physician in the town and local area for 60 years until he died in 1955. The office he practiced medicine in from 1901 until his death in 1955 was moved to Main Street and has been transformed into a small museum.
