1) the West Campus, consisting of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital
(a large acute hospital) together with its Jessop Wing (for fertility, women's health and care of newborn babies), Weston Park Hospital
(a specialist cancer
hospital) and the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, all located between Broomhill and Broomhall
in the West End
. Areas of speciality covered include infectious diseases and tropical medicine, neurology, neurosurgery, urology and haematology.
2) the Northern General Hospital
, located in the northern suburbs around Longley
, Firth Park, Grimesthorpe and Shiregreen. Areas of speciality covered include plastic surgery, respiratory medicine, cardiology.
Sheffield Children's Hospital is a separate trust.
Besides being a major healthcare services provider, providing over 900,000 appointments and operations each year, the Foundation Trust also provides clinical education for medical students from the University of Sheffield
. The Trust uses the Single Transferable Vote
voting system to elect its Members' Council.
