Naming of Second Creek

There is no "First Creek" per se. The settlers moving into the area were following the Midland Trail

 and crossed Howard's Creek first. The second creek they encountered was then named "Second Creek."

The area is rich with natural resources, but the citizens are growing concerned about the amount of water being pulled out of the creek to feed public and private interests.
