The area is entirely boreal forest sporting evergreens, poplar and birch along the route. The highway begins by circumventing the western perimeter of White Gull Lake and the Cub Hills, and then meanders around the south eastern coastline of Whiteswan Lakes. The southern end of Whiteswan Lakes is Whelan Bay. White Swan Lake which is home to a regional park, White Swan Lake Resort, Nature's Haven Lodge and cottages.

Route 913 begins at an intersection with Highway 120 in the area of White Gull Lake. Route 913 begins by going to the northwest towards Whelan Bay. Route 913 intersects an unnamed road at .38 of a mile. At .81 miles, Route 913 intersects with another unnamed road just outside of White Gull Lake. The unnamed road parallels Route 913 for some time before turning to the northeast. Route 913 passes to the west of White Gull Lake through the Cub Hills as it heads north.
