, 'Salesian English School (Hong Kong)' was established in 1951 just after the Pacific War
, the Salesian English School is a refined, refreshed and revolutionary 'Training Field for the then Youthhood of Future Leaders' since 1950s for many sectors and industries in Hong Kong and around the globe. Prominent leaders in the society with high personal integrity and honest characters to serve others were moulded and modeled in the past 60 years, ranging from high ranks civil service leaders, legislators, political reformers, university educators, medical practitioners, lawyers, certified public accountants, chartered engineers and chartered surveyors, professional artists, business leaders at Board levels were the results of the great efforts of several generations of educators, students, and family's co-operation.

Salesian English School is the pioneer school in delivering primary and secondary education in English medium dated back to the 1960s. This is a novel, but humble educational institute followed suit the doctrine of the founder Father Don Bosco. Located in the Island East of Hong Kong, at the juncture of Chaiwan and Shaukeiwan, the Catholic School used to be able to visualized the development of a fishing bay with diligent peoples while raising generations of Hongkongers with dignity, vision and mission.

Salesian English School was founded in 1951 and the Secondary Section founded in 1955. In 1959, first batch of students were admitted in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination
. Campus for Secondary Section was opened by Sir Robert Brown Black
, Hong Kong Governor, in the same year. Indoor Gymnastic construction started in 1966, and completed in 1972. The School Motto is 'Raising the Holy Cross, Lightening up the Fire Torch' in the hope of nurturing youngsters with souls and hearts to serve for the survival of others, with visionary leadership to lead the way of fellow people for their well-beings and for the initiatives of continuous improvement.
Result Oriented Education and a Balanced Philosophy
The School song explicitly expressed the 60-year positioning of the School strategy which stresses on 'harmonious social well-being','decent and proper academic achievement', 'ethical and mindset modeling', 'physical fitness for youthood training', 'with passion of Chinese culture', 'teacher-student profound friendship', 'fully integrated learning east and west', 'the ultimate happinese to share with all families and the parent schools' stakeholders', 'using the Catholic teaching to access to the glory for one's country and for one's homeland'.
Differentiation of Alumnus - Pragmatic ContributionIn just some of the few alumni below, one can see what Father Don Bosco's targets and positioning of the educational strategies were fully realized with the contribution and achievement of the alma maters and alumus for the well-being of serving others in the society, the country, the region, and in the globe. With a new generation of leadership by the new Principal is revoluntionary growth in the 21st Century, and it is anticipated that the new generations of schoolboys could be assisted and mentored by the successful 'Salesian' oldboys in the past 60 years.
